Michal Habera

Michal Habera joined in 2022 after completing a PhD with Prof. Andreas Zilian at the University of Luxembourg. Between 2022-2024 Michal worked on adding manufacturing constraints to Rafinex’s stochastic topology optimisation product Möbius. In 2025 Michal returned to the University of Luxembourg on a structural position.

Andrey Latyshev

Andrey Latyshev joined the group in 2023 after a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Ecole des Ponts ParisTech. He is working on understanding the stochastic buckling behaviour of thin structures.

Andrey is co-supervised with Corrado Maurini at Sorbonne Université.

Sona Selehian Ghamsari

Sona Selehian Ghamsari joined the group in 2021 after finishing a Masters in Remote Sensing Engineering from the University of Tehran. She is working on assimilating SAR satellite data into models of underground water flow.

Sona is co-supervised with Tonie van Dam at the University of Utah and University of Luxembourg.

Former

Damian Mingo

Damian Mingo joined the group in 2020 after finishing a MSc in Statistics from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He specialised in numerical approaches to the Bayesian model selection problem and on assessing the impact of Bayesian priors in dynamical systems using Wasserstein metrics.

Damian’s PhD thesis is co-supervised with Christophe Ley , Remko Nijzink and Stan Schymanski .

Raphaël Bulle

Raphaël Bulle joined the group in 2017 after a Masters degree in Mathematics at the Université de Franche-Comté. His PhD thesis was on the topic of a posteriori error estimation for the combined rational-finite element approximation of fractional elliptic operators.

Raphaël was supervised in a co-tutelle arrangement with Stéphane P. A. Bordas , Alexei Lozinsky and Franz Chouly .

Raphaël is now a postdoctoral researcher in Applied Mathematics at Laval University, Québec, Canada.

Martin Řehoř

Martin Řehoř joined the group in 2017 after finishing his PhD thesis at Charles University and Heidelberg University. He worked on numerical simulation of complex flows, e.g. viscoelasticity and complex wall-slip behaviour.

Martin is now a Research Scientist at Rafinex Sarl .

Julian Hennicker

Julian Hennicker joined the group in 2020 after a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Geneva. He worked on data-driven modelling of swell in industrial extrusion processes.
